A bit about me.
My name is Michelle Jacqueline Voortman (just the Michelle part’s fine). I’m someone who loves food, music, yoga, making coffee, and nature. I also happen to be an aspiring designer currently based in Cardiff. Being German but growing up between Italy and Thailand, I’ve always been exposed to different cultures, meaning my life revolves around great communication, adaptability, working together, and being creative and open-minded.
The ambition of design is to communicate in an open-minded way that embraces and challenges its context, emotionally connects with people, and has the power to start a meaningful conversation. So, as a designer, I'll never stop being curious, responsive, and forward-thinking. But more importantly, the designer and their work needs to be authentic and unpretentious, remembering that they are real people creating real stuff in a real world with real problems.
